This is the tale of how a simple .NET developer overcame the odds and delivered a polished Windows 8 app for a client - using that crazy language affectionately known as JavaScript. His company had recently landed a Windows 8 contract and the decision was made to use the platform this particular client was most familiar with: HTML5, CSS3, and of course, JavaScript. This talk will cover some of the hurdles encountered during the development, including: the realities of asset reuse, some differences between WinJS and XAML, tackling complicated async operations, and tips for getting started with the platform.
